Lina Shaheed is an emerging population health researcher, clinical research professional, and founder with an interdisciplinary background spanning biomedical science, clinical trials, patient-reported outcomes, public health, community-engaged research, and health policy.
She is currently completing a Master of Science in Population Health Sciences at Duke University, where she is developing expertise in quantitative research, epidemiology, health outcomes, health equity, and the structural determinants of health.
Her research foundation includes biomedical laboratory science, computational drug discovery, translational research, women's health, urologic oncology, occupational health, environmental health, and tobacco-control policy. She is particularly interested in applying biostatistics, health data science, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to improve healthcare delivery and advance equitable population-level outcomes.
Alongside her research, Lina is building initiatives centered on innovation, mentorship, leadership development, and expanding access to emerging opportunities in science and technology.

Lina’s leadership extends across academic governance, institutional engagement, climate education, and innovation. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member on the Duke Department of Population Health Sciences’ Culture, Engagement, and Impact Committee, where she contributes to departmental priorities related to scholarly excellence, innovation, inclusion, belonging, and community engagement.
She also serves on the Duke Climate Commitment Advisory Council’s Education Integration Subcommittee, supporting efforts to connect climate knowledge, education, and institutional action. This role aligns with her broader interest in population health, environmental and occupational health, and the systems that shape long-term community well-being.
Across these leadership spaces, Lina brings an analytical, collaborative, and mission-driven approach — translating ideas into structures that strengthen culture, expand opportunity, and support the next generation of researchers, students, and innovators.
